  1. Video is great, clearly the event invested in a good quality production crew, but why isn’t there any kind of voice over narration to explain the event to us. Pictures are beautiful and capture the energy of the event and all the activities, but I’d really like someone to be guiding me through it. It would also help if there were (sacre bleu!) subtitles for those of us who don’t speak French.

Hi Steve, I had nothing to do with this production, although I think I saw the production crew (1 guy with one camera) from time to time on Saturday. Personally, I prefer things like this to be without narration. Let the images tell the story. The idea is clearly not to teach, but to share moments and just give a taste of the various things that went on. I was only in Cahors for the last day, but I enjoyed looking at the stuff I missed. I’m glad no one put subtitles, many of which would have been “Hello, my name is ….”. I’d say, along with the work of Wine on the Rocks, these are my favorite videos from International Malbec Days. The viewer’s imagination is part of the action, and for me that’s part of the enjoyment.
