Philippe Faure-Brac: Cahors and Food

Philippe Faure-Brac won the Best Sommelier of the World Award in 1992. Today Philippe Faure-Brac is as attentive as ever to his restaurant, Bistrot du Sommelier in Paris and is a regular contributor of articles, writing in various magazines. He is also a member of the tasting committee of the "Wines of France" magazine. He takes part weekly in an emission of radio on BFM called "In Vino".
During a tasting of Cahors wines organized at his restaurant, he talked to us about Cahors wines, their qualities and specificities.

Wine and War authors talk Cahors

Co-authors of two great books on wine, Wine & War and Champagne, Don and Petie Kladstrup compare today's Cahors Malbec with that of the past and Argentina's Malbec with that of Cahor in this post Cahors tasting interview.

Petie Kladstrup writes about life in Normandy in her blog Petey Femayle.com. Don Kladstrup is working on a short fiction podcast to be available soon on a network near you.

Sharon Bowman at Le Taste Monde

Sharon Bowman writes about wine at SharonWine.Blogspot.com. She was not previously familiar with Cahors or Malbec, and we were interested in her thoughts on the tasting.

We spoke with her at the recent Malbec de Cahor tasting at Le Taste monde Restaurant in Paris. Just after tasting several Cahors wines, and just before lunch, we asked her for her impressions of the wines and a guess about what would be on the menu for lunch.

Gary Vaynerchuck on Cahors and Malbec

The event will be held on the magnificent and emblematic bridge of Cahors, the Valentré bridge and in the "Espace Valentré" next to it.

Our wines welcomed in Argentina

For a week, Argentina received the most prestigous representatives of the Malbec of Cahors. They visited some bodegas, some of them belonging to French winemakers, such as Philippe Rolet and Hervé Joyau.

Interesting exchanges on winemaking techniques took place between French and Argentinian winemakers. Almost everybody agreed on the interest for Malbec producers to share ideas on this unsual varietal.

The media, press and TV, were very interested by the event. A partnership agreement was signed between the city of Lujan de Cuyo and Cahors.
